Drumheller, AB: Four Dragons players and one staff member represented Team Canada West at this year’s World Junior A Challenge, and they will be coming home with some hardware!
Last Sunday they took on Team Canada East in the bronze medal game and emerged victorious with a 5-2 win. In that game, Ellis Mieyette had a goal and an assist and Sean Cootes made 30 saves for the win. Lauchlan Kozicky also picked up an assist in the game.
Over the course of the week long tournament, Ellis Mieyette posted 3 points in 5 games played, Allen Sherpa and Lauchlan Kozicky each picked up 1 point in 5 games played, and Sean Cootes posted a .842 save percentage.
We would like to congratulate all four players and Samantha Delsing, who was the team’s Athletic Therapist, on their bronze medal win at the 2024 World Junior A Challenge!
